What do I mean by work your opportunity?
Let’s say you are a writer. There are many different opportunities for writers, so now you have to decide what you want to write.
In this example, you have decided you want to write suspense stories. Now you have to decide if you want to write books, movies, short stories…
You want to write a suspense novel about a woman locked away in a room who finds out that…
OK, you have your story. You write it. Someone you know also knows a publisher that is looking for fresh talent to promote. They want a comic thriller and they are willing to advance the writer $5,000. Your story is not a comedy, but you have written comedies before. Now at this point, what do you do? Do you just write off this chance, or do you make changes to your story?
This is the point where your decision can mean having a great opportunity, or just writing a story. Even though you don’t have the opportunity yet, you need to look at what it takes to get it. That is the way you should look at everything you are doing on your journey towards living your dreams.
If you want to be a pastry chef, work on a signature dessert that will blow your competition away.
If you want to be a writer, work on being the best at your chosen style of writing. Then look for chances to showcase your work. When the opportunity comes, be ready.
This works for anything you want to do. Work that opportunity. You never know when it will come knocking.
Have a wonderful day,
