As promised, I am keeping you up to date on what is going on with my journey.
Tomorrow, I am excited about having my third speaking engagement at the South Florida Writer’s Association’s 9th Annual Mango Conference. Zorina Frey and I have been invited to speak along with other great speakers including the Key Note Speaker, Kenneth N. Nurtz.
In the past, I have shared my neurological issues and the determination to continue despite what is going on. I almost said no to this opportunity because things seemed to have gotten a little worse. But I decided to move forward because I cannot allow opportunities to slip through my fingers based on what “could be”.
I have been bogged down with, “what if” and “what could be”which are always followed by something really negative. But in the past I have done pretty well at my engagments and I know with more practice, I will get even better. I have been told that I have been inspiring and encouraging during my last two speeches and I intend to be inspiring and encouraging tomorrow and beyond.
What are some hindrances that are holding you back from continuing to pursue and realize your passions? List the positives and allow them to drive you. My positives are being inspiring and encouraging as well as just being invited.
When an opportunity arises, think about the reason and the positives. The opportunity presented itself for a reason. Shut down the negativity that follows statements that begin with “could be” or “what if”. What could be is a chance to shine with another great opportunity to follow and what if the experience is great and you gain more than you ever thought you could. If you don’t go, you won’t know. Think about it.
As always, I wish you great success on your journeys into your passions. Take care and have a great weekend!
